N.Y. TIMES

A seventh woman has stepped forward publicly with allegations that the comedian and actor Bill Cosby sexually assaulted her decades ago.
In an interview on WPTV in West Palm Beach, Fla., the woman, Therese Serignese, 57, a registered nurse, accused Mr. Cosby of drugging and having sex with her after one of his shows at the Las Vegas Hilton in 1976 when she was 19.

Although Mr. Cosby’s lawyers have routinely characterized such allegations as unfounded, the drumbeat of similar accusations over the last few weeks has led Mr. Cosby to withdraw from television interviews and has cost him several business opportunities as companies have canceled projects.
Mr. Cosby has been all but silent on the matter. On Wednesday, The Associated Press released an interview it conducted with him on Nov. 6 in which he would not answer questions on camera about the allegations.

 Read it at Hartford Courant:

Adam Lanza was “completely untreated” in the years prior to him killing 27 people, the state of Connecticut concluded in a blockbuster report released Friday. The Office of the Child Advocate said Lanza “did not receive sustained, effective” treatment for a variety of mental-health problems and red flags about him were ignored in incident after incident. Instead, Lanza’s parents and school officials merely treated his superficial symptoms, like lotioning his hands rubbed raw by excessive washing.

What’s more, Nancy Lanza pulled Adam out of treatment with Yale clinicians in 2007 to keep him happy. The clinicians had diagnosed Lanza with profound emotional disabilities and an unspecified biological disorder. They even sent Lanza’s father an urgent email about medication and the need for treatment, but his mother rejected the plan. The report did make clear, however, that these missed opportunities would not necessarily have prevented the massacre.
