Two business associates of Trump’s personal attorney Giuliani have been arrested on campaign finance charges
Ukraine call alarmed national security officials
At least four officials were so worried by the Trump administration’s attempts to pressure Ukraine for political purposes that they raised concerns with a White House lawyer both before and immediately after President Trump’s July 25 call with the Ukrainian president, according to U.S. officials and other persons familiar with the matter.
President Trump pressed then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in 2017 to intervene in a prosecution of a Turkish-Iranian gold trader who was represented by Rudolph W. Giuliani, said two people with knowledge of the request.
